Sustainability
Even before it was fashionable, FNV demonstrated a commitment to supporting local, sustainable industries and the use of renewable and recyclable resources.
Nowadays we try even harder to select raw materials with minimum footprint.
Much of the timber used in our furniture is plantation timber from sustainable forests in Australia (Tasmania and Victoria), although we continue to import the much sought after European Beech frames as no local timber matches this wood’s strength and flexibility(when steamed).
The metal used in our chairs is fully recyclable and even our injection moulded plastic chairs can be recycled.
FNV prides itself on being quick to embrace new technologies that will further reduce our footprint. We try to source sustainably produced fabrics and leathers, and actively promote the use of wool and natural fibres, for example, that are fully renewable and recyclable.
The production processes at our factory at Peakhurst are continually reviewed to ensure best use of resources and minimum waste.
